DON’T PAY MORE FOR COLLEGE
Students and families can begin filing the FAF$A on October 1, 2021 at the FAFSA website. Completing the FAF$A (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) allows you to have access to state and federal financial aid, school scholarships and grants.
The College and Career Readiness Team will assist you and your family in completing the FAF$A. We will launch the FWCS FAF$A COMPLETION with a kick-off event on Saturday, October 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Family and Community Engagement Center, 230 East Douglas Avenue.
Can’t make the kick-off event? We will host monthly FAF$A COMPLETION DAYS at the Family and Community Engagement Center from Noon – 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:
- Wednesday, October 13
- Wednesday, November 10
- Wednesday, December 8
- Wednesday, January 12
- Wednesday, February 9
- Wednesday, March 9
- Wednesday, April 13
WHAT TO BRING
STUDENTS
Please be sure that you are prepared with the following information:
- Student FSA ID to sign electronically
- Student’s Social Security Number
- Student’s Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Your 2019 federal income tax returns, W-2’s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool)
- Bank Statements and records of investments (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
- Names of College or Universities you are considering
