Fort Wayne Community Schools, in partnership with Parkview, will offer a Family Asthma Education Night to help parents and students learn more about managing this chronic condition.

The evening is designed to help parents control their child's asthma and reduce symptoms so children stays as healthy and active as possible. Topics discussed will include: triggers, early warning signs, how to manage a crisis episode, medications, and how to plan for being away from home and controlling your asthma. Free products will be provided for students with asthma, and there will be other giveaways for family members who attend.

Asthma can be difficult to manage even if you see your doctor regularly, said Mary Hess, FWCS Director of Health and Wellness Services. We hope to see many families at this event so we can partner with them as we all have the same goal: Healthy children.

This free event takes place from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at the FWCS Family and Community Engagement Center (FACE), 230 E. Douglas Ave. A light supper will be provided. Please RSVP to 260-467-7260 to allow for a count for supper.
