Middle Schools Welcome Incoming Sixth-Graders

Fort Wayne Community Schools’ middle schools will welcome soon-to-be sixth-graders and their parents during virtual orientations this week.

Each middle school invites students and their parents to learn more about the school they will attend in the fall and the transition from elementary to middle school.

Virtual sixth-grade orientations will be held:

  • Blackhawk Middle School, Zoom, Thursday, April 29, 6 p.m.

  • Kekionga Middle School, Zoom, Thursday, April 29, 6 p.m.
  • Lakeside Middle School, recorded video posted on school website, Monday, May 3
  • Lane Middle School, Zoom, Wednesday, May 5, 6 p.m.
  • Memorial Park Middle School, Zoom, Tuesday, April 27, 6 p.m.
  • Miami Middle School, Zoom, Tuesday, April 27, 5:30 p.m.
  • Northwood Middle School, Zoom, Tuesday, April 27, 6 p.m.; Wednesday, April 28, 8 a.m.
  • Portage Middle School, Zoom, Tuesday, April 27, 6 p.m.
  • Shawnee Middle School, Zoom, Wednesday, April 28, 5:30 p.m.

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken.
