High Schools Welcome Class of 2026

Fort Wayne Community Schools’ five high schools will welcome members of the Class of 2026 and their parents during freshman orientations.

Each high school invites students and their parents to learn more about the high school, transitioning from middle school to high school; how to register for ninth-grade classes; and the Indiana Graduation Pathways, which requires students to meet core academic class requirements and demonstrate readiness for continued education after graduation and employability skills.

All freshman orientations will be held in person with the exception of South Side High School, which will be offered via Zoom. The schedule follows:

  • Northrop High School, Wednesday, Feb. 16, 6 p.m.
  • North Side High School, Wednesday, Feb. 16, 6 p.m.
  • South Side High School, via Zoom, Thursday, March 3, 6 p.m.
  • Snider High School, Wednesday, March 9, 6 p.m.
  • Wayne High School & New Tech Academy at Wayne, Wednesday, March 9, 6:30 p.m.

Fort Wayne Virtual Academy will contact new students individually to prepare for the 2022-23 school year.

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
